Speaking of character, part of what makes a great business is the different skills, knowledge, expertise, experience & character each individual brings to the business and contributes to its growth. OCGems is greatly fortunate to have Mr. Ray Ferraris as a mentor. We must at this time express our deepest of gratitude to Petra Diamonds which enrolled us onto an “Enterprise Development Program” late 2017 which involved financial support, rough supply & mentorship. Petra Diamonds then approached Mr. Ray Ferraris and asked him to be our mentor & guide.

A bit of background about Mr. Ferraris. Mr. Ray Ferraris leads QTS Kristal Dinamika, a Diamond Consultancy established in 2005. A highly reputable consultant with a global footprint having consulted for leading mining companies such as Namakwa Diamonds, Gem Diamonds, Lucara, Meya Mining, Lucapa, etc. The firm actively operates in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, and Belgium. With 40 Years of experience in all aspects of rough diamonds, QTS Kristal mainly specializes in Diamond Valuation, Diamond Metallurgy/Geological Studies, and Marketing or Tender preparation. The firm is also involved in rough diamond buying in the Republic of South Africa.

Specialties: Valuation including large type IIa diamonds and Noble Fancy Coloured diamonds. Breakage/damage assessment including process causes; diamond training; assessment of diamond features, Types I and II as well as population studies; Diamond Chain of Custody; Final Recovery, Kimberley Process requirements for exporting, etc

We have been very fortunate and blessed with the skills, knowledge, expertise, and experience Mr. Ferraris brings into OCGems operations. Furthermore, our relationship has grown tremendously over the years as Mr. Ferraris does not hesitate to go above & beyond for the further growth & development of OCGems. His unwavering support has kept us going through the toughest of times.
