Born on the 2nd of September 1997, in a small town called Jane Furse in the Limpopo Province. Kamogelo’s story is one of a go-getter, a characteristic we greatly value amongst team members at OCGems. She initially wanted to study for a Bachelor’s in Social Work, but the only space available at that point in time was in the accounting stream. Nevertheless, she took the opportunity at hand and pursued a Bachelors of Commerce at the University of Limpopo. Over time she began to understand what the field was about and found herself developing a growing interest, although constantly challenged. Her mentor then introduced her to a student chapter called AWCA(African Women Chartered Accountants). The organization felt like home, exactly what she needed to gain further clarity into the field.
Kamogelo excelled greatly over the course of time and later served as the Vice-Chairperson of AWCA in 2019. This experience further helped her to grow as an individual, as she actively participated in community outreaches at high schools and numerous talks with professionals in the field. “In accounting, you are constantly learning and this fuels my growing interest each time”.-Kamogelo
